At a meeting with our Commissioner Dean Trantalis on Monday, January 25th, 2016 we asked that he take over what the MRTNA had started with the grant writer at the Parks Department and investigate grants to acquire playground equipment similar to other city parks similar to Poinciana Park, Harbordale Park(shown) and Bay View Park. The MRTNA has been working on getting equipment beginning with the refusal of the City to purchase the south parcel that the old building stood on and is now an empty lot that could have given the park much needed parking and space for a ball court and recreation equipment.
