The Council of Civic Associations is Co-Sponsoring a Meet the Candidates Night on August 4 at ArtServe,1350 East Sunrise Blvd. The meeting starts at 6:00 pm and will run until 10:00 pm. Light refreshments will sustain us. Come and meet the people who have been filling our mailboxes with campaign flyers. August 30th is Primary Day and you don’t get to be on the November 8 ballot unless you win your primary race. There are significant races this year for Broward Sheriff, Broward Supervisor of Elect…ions, Broward Property Appraiser and Broward County Commissioner District 9. In addition there is a very hotly contested race for Florida State Senate District #34. There are the important but usually overlooked races for County and Circuit Judges.
Many thanks to the Lake Ridge Civic Association for taking on this job for a second year. They are dedicating this meeting to the memory of the late Chuck Black, CFLCA Board Member, Civic Activist and Fort Lauderdale Citizen of the Year. We will miss him.
