Dixie Highway Project

Plans and the majority of funds have been approved for the Dixie Highway Project

Plans and funds for the project were approved by the Fort Lauderdale City Commission and the Broward MPO.

The project has been 7 years in the making and will soon turn into a pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle friendly neighborhood road and take the Highway out of Dixie.

Work continues on the process of obtaining the additional funds necessary for the “niceties” of the project: Entrance monuments and traffic calming devices. On completion, the project will give school children safe sidewalks and crosswalks, add bicycle lanes, and retain the two driving lanes as they exist today and last, but not least, increase the “look” of our neighborhood and enhance our property values.

FDOT is presently working on improvements north of 26th St. & Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors has plans to re-work Dixie Highway from 26th Street south to the South Fork of the Middle River Bridge were it will connect to our Dixie Highway Project and on the other end of our project at NE 13th Street it will connect with the improvement project that has been funded and in the planning stages.
