October 31 – Cycle for Trees Event – 11:30 – 2:30
Come watch and get a free tree before they run out. The biking tour begins at Walt Disney World on Oct. 25 and stops in Ruskin, Sarasota, Punta Gorda, Fort Myers Beach, Everglades City and Miami, visiting dozens of other communities along the way. The ride concludes on Halloween in Fort Lauderdale. They will be riding on Riverwalk from the Huizenga Plaza to the Esplanade in front of the Broward Center and the Museum of Discovery and Science.
November 7 – Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Drop-Off Event
The City of Fort Lauderdale has partnered with neighboring communities to provide more options for residents to dispose of household hazardous waste and electronics (proof of residency required with driver’s license or utility bill).
Fort Lauderdale residents are invited to the November 7th HHW Event to be held from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 1660 NE 10th Street, Pompano Beach, FL 33306
November 14 – Big Toy and Truck Show in Holiday Park
Bring the kids and watch how excited they are when they get to recycle and bring the recycle bin to the truck. Every kind of truck that works in the City will be there.
November 17 – Green Your Routine Awards Ceremony
Watch your Middle River Terrace President (Laura) and GYR rep (Joann) pick up a check for $1,325.25 for the various GYR activities the Board has participated in 2014-2015. The check is given at the 6pm City Commission meeting.
November 22 – Open Streets Program on East Las Olas will include a free tree giveaway to Fort Lauderdale residents.
Date TBA – Air potato picking competition at Snyder Park and anywhere in Fort Lauderdale the air potato grows. The air potato is an invasive plant that keeps native plants from growing. The neighborhood association that has the most potatoes, by weight, wins, plus all participating neighborhoods get ½ point for each 30 lbs of potatoes they bring in to be weighed at Snyder Park.
MRTNA has adopted NE 8th Ave and NE 18th Street in Fort Lauderdale’s Adopt a Street program. We need to do a quarterly one-day pick-up of trash and recyclables on the adopted street. Please join us to keep the streets around the dock clean and earn points for the neighborhood.

Little Free Library – Bring books you no longer read to the Little Free Library in Middle River Terrace Park on Dixie Highway, near NE 13th Street. Bring some and take some. Share the joy of reading. If you have a lot of books to donate e-mail Joann at and she will pick them up.
